A fall note

Fall never disappoints me.

For me, it is the beginning. It’s such a happy and exciting time. The light is soft and warm, the kind that makes everything feel possible. It’s my favorite season.

The McLean Art Festival was my first festival. I felt genuinely happy there. Calm, present, in my place. I was supported by my family, and that made everything feel lighter. I met wonderful people and other wonderful artists, and had meaningful conversations.

That fall, I also taught my first painting class. It was interesting. We arranged our own bouquets, and I tried to teach not only how to paint, but how to feel first. I went a little unscripted, but that felt right. I followed what felt true in the moment.

There was joy in all of it. In sharing work, in teaching, in beginning something new.

With love,

Olga
